Language: English and Coding [rant]

Random rant thought, for your pleasure.

I have been trying to slowly ease into seriously learning coding. I have to admit, the idea of being able to create apps or just really intricate websites scratches an itch I didn’t know I had. But, the more I watch random movies and tv shows showing coders, or seeing them in action or listening to them, I find I realize more and more similarities to writing.
I feel like simple websites are like short stories, or simple apps. There is a definite structure you have to use, and words that create an image and action. And, of course those complex websites (like Facebook even) are like novels. The amount of consistency and precision in English, artistry and format for a well crafted novel mimics the continuity and exactitude of a well crafted app or website.
You’ve probably came across a novel that, hey it had some good points about it, but either the images weren’t created well enough, there were issues with plot, or so on. And, you have probably also came across a website or app that has the same kind of issues.
There is a reason they are called coding languages. And you know what, one of my passions are language. I was in French immersion, and I loved it. The idea of knowing this other world of another language was amazing. The trick about different languages is that they really can’t be fully translated. There are undertones that belong to a language, and that language alone.
And, I am slowly beginning to see how that is possible with coding languages as well.
So, wish me luck and I attempt to slowly dive into the foreign world of coding.
